If you are reading this brief message, chances are you may be searching for someone to help you locate professional care for your loved one who is suffering from Alzheimer's, Dementia, or both. That was me just a few months ago. When I was made aware that my older sister had been diagnosed; and suffering with the symptoms of both of these debilitating diseases. As her younger brother I felt compelled to research the best available options for her care. What I discovered is that while there are many excellent facilities that do provide long term care. There are unfortunately very few that are staffed and equipped to provide services for "memory care patients " who suffer with both Alzheimer's and Dementia. This discovery left me feeling very distressed and bewildered about what I was going to do next. It was at this point in my search that I was fortunate to discover Sue Wolf and Kaleidoscope Services. During my first conversations with Sue I quickly realized that I was speaking with a skilled professional that had many years of experience working with Alzheimer's and Dementia patients. Sue listened to me and understood the urgency and complexity of my situation. She was able to provide me with information on local facilities that could provided "memory care", and how to make arrangements for a "Legal Guardian" to be appointed for my sister. Sue helped me put a plan together for the long term care of my sister's acute care requirements as they increased dramatically. So Sue recommended and was able to relocate Marlene int a local group home setting. This turned out to be such a blessing for Marlene, myself, and her remaining family members. On several of my visits she was smiling, singing, and reminiscing with me about her childhood days. As you can imagine these were very precious moments with my sister that I will forever cherish. My sister is now home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As I think back over this experience. I am so thankful that I was able to find and work with Sue Wolf and her team at Kaleidoscope Services.
